Team PNG Boxing Dominates at the Oceania Games with 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze!

Papua New Guinea’s boxing team has once again proven their strength and determination on the international stage, returning from the Oceania Games with an incredible nine medals in total, 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze. Their outstanding performance cements PNG’s reputation as a rising powerhouse in regional boxing.


Leading the charge were our four Gold Medal champions, true warriors who fought with heart, discipline, and pride:John Ume, Steven Kendu, Allen Oaike, Leontine Kevin


These boxers showcased exceptional skill and endurance, outclassing their opponents and bringing glory to the nation. Their victories highlight the dedication and preparation that Team PNG Boxing has put into their training programs in recent months.


Adding to the medal haul were 3 Silver Medalists, Petronella Nokenoke, Goli Bali, and James Paul, who all displayed tremendous courage and talent throughout their bouts. Meanwhile, David Ome and Quincy Kavakore earned Bronze, rounding out an impressive team effort.


The Papua New Guinea Boxing Union and the entire nation stand proud of these champions, who continue to lift the country’s flag high on the international stage. Their achievements are not just medals, they are symbols of perseverance, unity, and national pride.
